Pistol 101

Course Overview:

Pistol 101 is a single day pistol course designed with the complete novice in mind. Maybe you just bought your first pistol or are considering purchasing your first pistol, this course is the place to start. 

This course covers the foundations of all things pistol to include parts and functions of your specific firearm, safe weapons manipulations,  fundamentals of marksmanship, reloading, and safe handling of weapons malfunctions.

You will leave this course feeling completely confident in your ability to safely operate and maintain your pistol.

Prerequisites:

  • None, this is an introductory course of instruction. The only prerequisite required is a good attitude and willingness to learn!

Recommended Equipment:

  • Pistol or Revolver*

  • Ammunition*

    • Minimum 250 rounds, 500 preferred​

  • Weapon Specific Spare Magazines

    • Minimum 2, more is better​

  • Rigid Belt and Holster (if available)

  • Pistol Magazine Pouches (if available)

  • Weapons Cleaning Kit/Tools (if available)

  • Ear/Eye Protection

  • Long Sleeve Shirt/Pants/Closed-Toed Shoes

  • Notepad/Pen/Pencil

*        This is an introductory course, designed with aspiring gun owners in mind. We understand that you may not have all equipment listed. We have loaner weapons and equipment available. Please reach out ahead of time to ensure we have equipment available for you. Ammunition is also available, please reach out for more information!

Pistol 1

Course Overview:

Pistol 1 is a single day course designed to take your pistol competency to the next level. Basic safety and understanding of your pistol's function is the only prerequisite. This course focuses on reiterating good fundamentals of marksmanship, while also adding more complex tasks.

In this course you will learn pistol marksmanship fundamentals, multiple target engagements, movement, use of cover, reloading, complex malfunctions, and will participate in timed courses of fire designed to push your weapons handling skills to the limit.

 

You will leave this course with a deep understanding of your pistol capabilities.  You will notice a marked improvement in your skillset, but also identify weaknesses you have and will leave with drills you can do at home to strengthen those weaknesses.

  • The only prerequisite for this course is an understanding of the safe operation of your firearm and a good attitude!

    • Minimum 400 rounds, 500 preferred​

  • Weapon Specific Spare Magazines

    • Minimum 3, more is better​

  • Ear/Eye Protection

  • Long Sleeve Shirt/Pants/Closed-Toed Shoes

Pistol/Rifle 1

Course Overview:

Pistol/Rifle 1 is a one day course featuring the combination of the pistol and rifle as a working unit. This course will discuss the definitions and utilization of the primary and secondary weapons systems exposing you to situational based training intended to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each.

In this course you will learn the definition and utilization of primary and secondary weapons systems and how to efficiently carry and transition between them. You will participate in scenario-based courses of fire designed to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each. You will also be exposed to situations perfect for ensuring your equipment works for you in the ways you intend it to.

 

At the conclusion of this course you will have a deep understanding of primary/secondary weapons theory. You will understand how to set up equipment and utilize it in a way that works for you. You will become familiar with your strengths and weaknesses and leave with drills to do at home to strengthen those weaknesses.

  • The only prerequisite for this course is an understanding of the safe operation of your firearm and a good attitude!

  • Pistol

  • Carbine Rifle w/ iron sights or optic capable of 1x magnification

  • Ammunition*

    • Pistol - Minimum 250 rounds

    • Rifle - Minimum 500 rounds 

  • Weapon Specific Spare Magazines

    • Minimum 3 standard capacity magazines per weapons system, more is better​

  • Plate Carrier or Chest Harness

  • Pistol Belt and Holster

  • Magazine Pouches 

  • Weapons Cleaning Kit/Tools

  • Ear/Eye Protection

  • Long Sleeve Shirt/Pants/Closed-Toed Shoes

  • Notepad/Pen/Pencil
